Tony Kart Shifters dominate the Macau International Kart Grand Prix

 

The Tony Kart Racing Team concluded its 2019 season on a high winning the Macau International Kart Grand Prix where Simo Puhakka, Matteo Viganò, Alessio Piccini and Noah Milell clinched the first four positions of the KZ Shifter category!

The Macau International Kart Grand Prix is an important meeting on the international karting scene and it was also the last race of the year for the Tony Kart Racing Team. The event came alive in qualifying where the Tony Kart Factory Team Drivers immediately stood out. In Group 1, Alessio Piccini slotted into the second position followed by Simo Puhakka. In the second group, Matteo Viganò and Noah Milell rolled off the track in second and third respectively, confirming the excellent performances of the OTK material.

In the three qualifying Heats that followed, the team’s shifter drivers carried on their momentum, proving great solidity and consistency result-wise. Simo Puhakka, sat on the pole position for the prefinal, followed by Matteo Viganò and Alessio Piccini. Just behind them, Noah Milell finished fifth at the end of the heat races.

Coming to the prefinal, after a hard-fought challenge between teammates, Puhakka still emerged on top, followed by the Italians Viganò and Piccini. Milell, had some difficultes and rolled across the line in 9th.

The 25 lap final, on the binding track of Macau, confirmed the performances throughout the whole weekend as the drivers stayed at the top with Puhakka winning the race ahead of Viganò and Piccini. Finishing fourth was Milell thanks to an excellent comeback.
